Free services offered to Ukrainian citizens for integration into the Romanian labour market

Ukrainian refugees who enrol at the Regional Employment Agency (Agenția Județeană pentru Ocuparea Forței de Muncă – AJOFM) can benefit from special measures to stimulate employment, as well as protection within the unemployment insurance system, under the conditions provided by law, the same as for a Romanian citizen.
By enrolling in the unemployment insurance system, you gain the following rights:
The enrolment is done at the Regional Employment Agency in Iași (AJOFM).
The documents you need are the Temporary protection permit and your identity document (passport, ID card).

Monday – Thursday: 8:00 am – 16:30 pm
Friday: 8:00 am – 14:00 pm
Saturday – Sunday: Closed
AJOFM works with English speaking people and one Russian speaking person. However, consider taking a Romanian speaking person with you to be sure that everything goes smoothly. You can also call us and we will help you with translation.
After enrolling at AJOFM Iași as a person looking for a job, you will have access to the unemployment insurance system, information and professional counselling services and free professional training courses organized by AJOFM.
As part of the information and professional counselling services, you will fill in, with the support and under the guidance of the career guidance counselor, a declaration on own responsibility where you state your experience and professional abilities. The declaration is available in Romanian and Ukrainian.
After completing the activities within the information and professional counseling services, you will be helped to be placed in a job vacancy that corresponds to the qualifications and experience you have declared.
If you will contact an employer directly, without requesting the services of AJOFM, you will fill in the declaration on own responsibility together with the employer where you are going to be employed. The declaration is the basis for concluding the employment contract.
